Explore Quito’s Historic Centre

Journey to Scalesia Lodge, Galápagos. Afternoon visit to Cave of Sucre. Overnight at Scalesia Lodge.

Explore Isabela Island’s Sierra Negra and Chico Volcano. Return to Scalesia Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we visit Concha Perla bay to swim and snorkel.

Visit to the Tintoreras, an islet formed by lava flows. In the afternoon visit El Muro de las Lagrimas (Wall of tears).

Early in the morning transfer to the airport to take our flight back to Baltra. Pick up and transfer to Puerto Ayora. Visit Las Grietas. In the afternoon visit Tortuga Bay beach. After the visit we will be taken to Finch Bay Hotel.

The sequence of visits might be altered depending on arrival of flights to Baltra or Isabela, weather conditions, or other unexpected circumstances beyond our control.

Return to Quito

Journey to Quito airport. Fly to Coca, where we will be met by a naturalist guide and will board a large motorized canoe for 2-hour ride down the Rio Napo to Sacha Lodge. We will arrive with time to settle in, bird-watch, swim, or take a walk under the canopy before dinner.

Activities in Sacha Lodge in the morning, after lunch, and in the evening.

Return to Quito and journey to Hacienda Piman. Arrive late afternoon.

Leave Piman for Ibarra for a brief walk around its historic centre and continue to the train station where we will board a locomotive for a one-and-a-half-hour adventure ride. Arrive in Salinas de Ibarra at midday. Continue to explore the area and visit the village of El Juncal, lunch with a local family. After lunch return to Piman via backroads. Arrive at Piman at 4:30 PM. Note: The train operates from Thursday to Sunday. In case we cannot fit the excursion on a train day we will offer an alternative excursion to El Angel Reserve where we will explore its strange and beautiful plants, forest and lakes.
